Marnie Weston is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 12 years of experience in the counseling field. Marnie has worked with adults, children, teens and families in a variety of settings including a medical practice, schools and outpatient mental health centers. Marnie has particular expertise providing therapy to adolescents and young adults.
At New Directions, Marnie works with clients to address a wide range of difficulties including but not limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-partum depression, grief and loss, anger management and adjustment to life changes. In addition, Marnie is fluent in Spanish and is available to work with Spanish-speaking clients. Marnie enjoys assisting clients in developing greater self-acceptance and improving their overall sense of self-worth, while helping them to navigate challenging life circumstances and improve mental health and wellness.
Marnie obtained dual undergraduate degrees at Geneva College, earning a B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in Spanish. She went on to earn her MSW from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Social Work in 2002.
Native to the Pittsburgh area, Marnie has also practiced in the states of California and Ohio. She returned to Pittsburgh in 2013, and is glad to have settled into work and life in her hometown.
