Sherry Marentay, LCSW has been practicing therapist for more than 10 years including 7 years in private practice. Sherry works with adults, teens, couples, and families struggling with challenges such as depression, anxiety including OCD, adjustment to changes/losses, and relationship difficulties. Sherry’s approach to therapy is multifaceted incorporating training that she has received in Rational Emotive Therapy and in Gestalt Therapy. Sherry’s therapeutic work also includes a strong belief in the mind/body connection with an emphasis on helping her clients to develop awareness of ways in which this connection manifests in their lives. She works collaboratively with her clients to attain their therapeutic goals.
Sherry received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from West Virginia University in 1998. In addition to private practice work, she has also worked at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility and has provided services to children and adolescents within a residential treatment setting and in the community.
Originally from West Virginia, Sherry has lived in the Pittsburgh area for 14 years. At present, Sherry and her husband keep busy raising their two sons.
