Our Psychology Residents have earned their doctorate degree, and they have over 2000 hours of pre-doctoral clinical experience. They have not yet earned a license to practice independently as a psychologist.  Your provider will be practicing under the supervision of another licensed psychologist at our practice who will be collaborating with your provider in order to maintain the highest standards of care throughout your treatment.

Fees for Psychology Resident Services

Initial Evaluation Psychotherapy $85 
Individual Therapy Session $70 
Couples or Family Therapy Session $70 
Group Therapy Session $60 
Evaluation for ADHD  $500 


Meet our current Psychology Resident

Sofia Alvarez, Psy.D

Dr. Alvarez’s approach is to utilize objective tests to compare with your current and past functioning. In addition, she strives to develop comprehensive understanding of you as an individual. This includes your perspectives, emotions, actions and relationships, as well as how your culture has shaped you. The combination of qualitative and quantitative data helps her build an assessment to better treat your difficulties.

Dr. Alvarez has over 2000 pre-doctoral clinical hours of training. In addition, she has her doctorate in clinical psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), and completed a pre-doctoral internship at Texas A&M University.
