Contact Dr. Kaylee Curilla
Dr. Kaylee Curilla is a licensed psychologist who works with late adolescents and adults who are struggling with a wide array of difficulties and presenting issues. Dr. Curilla has particular expertise providing help with the following types of life challenges: relationship difficulties, social anxiety, identity development, disordered eating/body image issues, recovery from traumatic experiences, depression, and attachment difficulties. Prior to private practice, Dr. Curilla provided psychotherapy in a variety of settings including community mental health, college counseling, department of corrections, and forensic inpatient settings.
Dr. Curilla tends to have a relational-dynamic focus in her therapy, meaning that she pays attention to the importance of current and past relationships, how the individual interacts in relationships, and how those relationships may impact the individual’s view of the self. She also pulls from mindfulness-based, emotion-focused, and cognitive techniques, depending on what feels most helpful at the time. She believes that therapy should be a collaborative process between the therapist and client, and strongly believes in the importance of the therapeutic relationship in helping to build more meaningful and fulfilling relationships outside of therapy.
Dr. Curilla is a native to southwestern Pennsylvania who returned to the area after completing her doctorate degree at Antioch University New England in Keene, New Hampshire. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Southern Illinois Unversity’s Counseling and Psychological Services Center where she specialized in eating disorders and trauma, and she completed her post-doctoral residency at Duquesne University’s Counseling and Wellbeing Center.
