Vaughn Sadenki, LPC

My goal is to help clients grow by actively confronting their fears and perceived limitations. I have confidence that people have naturally instilled skills that they can utilize to overcome barriers. The important key to initiating and sustaining long-term change is commitment.

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults struggling with issues related to self-identity, peer interactions, familial conflict, and self-harm. I also work with adults who are struggling with age-related life transitions, substance abuse, limited boundaries, and anxiety-depressive symptoms. My interventions and techniques are heavily rooted in the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Systemic Family Therapy Models. In my experience, CBT assists individuals with increasing their awareness and creating a shift in their thinking. Systemic Family Therapy examines how external systems influence an individual’s overall experience and make structural changes to deviate from dysfunctional patterns of interaction. Both modalities provide a well-rounded frame to support beneficial change.

I strive to create a safe/ comfortable environment where people can escape from the stressors of daily life and have space to focus on self-development. I utilize humor as I believe that laughter can be a therapeutic tool for increasing distress tolerance as well as challenging distortions. Overcoming your struggle can be a frightening experience, but you do not have to do it alone.
