Katrina King, LPC
Katrina King is a Licensed Professional Counselor working with adults and older adolescents. For the last 8 years, she has gained experience working in a variety of clinical settings including community mental health agencies, as well as partial inpatient and outpatient clinics. Katrina has experience in a variety of areas including: Mood disorders, Anxiety disorders, Depression, Trauma, Grief, Relationship issues, Substance abuse issues, Life Transitions and Stress.
Katrina uses an eclectic style focusing on using a holistic and person-centered approach. In addition, she integrates mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy and meditation techniques. She also believes that each individual’s life experiences have helped shape who they are. Thus, their treatment should be individualized to fit those needs. Katrina believes in meeting people where they are and emphasizing a supportive and genuine bond with each person. This helps to create a compassionate and collaborative treatment environment.
Katrina is originally from Indiana, PA. She came to Pittsburgh, PA for college obtaining her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Point Park University. She then went on to receive her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Chatham University.
Personally, Katrina loves animals- especially her dog, Sophie. She enjoys spending time outside especially in the summer and loves Pittsburgh sports. She is excited to join one of the area’s most trustworthy mental health practices, New Directions Counseling Services
