Liz Bailey, LAPC, MSCP

Liz is a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and relational therapist who believes that everyone should get the opportunity to feel strong and empowered throughout their healing journey. Her ideal client is someone who is goal-oriented and ready to explore change through storytelling, introspection and learning. Whether exploring childfree life decisions, navigating a major life transition, grief and loss, past traumas, or struggling to manage life’s everyday stressors, she is here to listen, provide support through the discomfort, and celebrate victories on the journey toward transformation.

There is no one way to heal, and Liz’s therapeutic style reflects that – allowing for a flexible and personal therapy experience. She incorporates a variety of therapeutic approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy. Liz is neurodiversity-affirming, LGBTQIA2SP+ affirming, body positive, and sex/poly/kink-affirming.

Beginning therapy is a brave decision. Liz aims to collaboratively create and foster a safe space that encourages clients to come as they are, as we are all deserving of a space to heal. She believes that therapy is designed to foster growth, connection, empowerment, and strength – and that this journey doesn’t have to be stiff or clinical.

Liz is a devoted dog mom, craft beer enthusiast, elder emo, nature lover, and has a fascination of the occult. She tries to keep the spirit of winter alive yearlong through her omnipresent collection of polar bears.

Meet Luna!

Luna is Liz Bailey’s 5-year-old Corgi mix therapy dog! Canine-assisted therapy offers numerous benefits such as emotion regulation, stress and anxiety reduction, alleviating depressive symptoms, addressing grief and loss, lowering blood pressure, enhancing self-esteem, improving socialization, reducing emotional and behavioral issues, and fostering trust.

Liz Bailey had this to say about Luna:

“She is a 5-year-old Corgi mix who has been my companion since I adopted her at 8 weeks old. We did extensive training together through an independent study I facilitated during my graduate career and she graduated her training – making us a great team! She loves playing fetch, pawing for affection, and napping on your lap (which is one form of deep pressure therapy), but she has been such a pleasure and addition to have in my sessions with clients. Clients who see me also say what a difference it makes having Luna in sessions, and I am excited to share her with all of NDMH!”
