Gillian Martin is a Licensed Professional Counselor an Clinic Director at our Wexford – Stonewood Drive clinic, with more than 10 years of clinical experience. She has worked as a Child & Teen Therapist, as well as with adults in a variety of clinical settings including residential treatment and private practice. This has allowed Gillian the opportunity to interact with a variety of diverse populations having very different mental health needs.

As an Adventure-Based Counselor in residential care Gillian utilized experiential activities to target interpersonal growth. She also focused on trauma, family dynamics, goal setting, and transitional life skills. In private practice, Gillian has been working with individuals and families to resolve generational trauma, issues related to gender and sexual identity, anxiety, depression, and grief. In addition, she has helped clients create new avenues for healing.

Gillian knows that an evidence-based, holistic approach, in which the client’s needs come first, often results in a positive therapeutic experience. Her counseling approach utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Movement-Based activities. She is also certified in EMDR.

Originally from Central Pennsylvania, Gillian graduated with her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. She enjoys hiking with her dogs, winning at board games, and spending time with her family.
