Mental Health Counselor
I love working with children and adolescence because a child’s mind and heart is complex and delicate. It’s important to incorporate the child’s interest in every session to build a strong working relationship. Once a relationship is established we can talk through feelings and behaviors and come up with goals to achieve healing. Its amazing when you see a child becoming empowered and challenge their struggles and embrace hope! I have a very similar passion working with adults and have had a lot of experience working with adults of all ages who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, divorce, bereavement, trauma, spiritual concerns and many life issues. Its important to walk beside the adult with compassion as we work through difficult life circumstances that adults can face in their lives. My goal is to work with individuals providing compassion, a caring heart. Hope is a very powerful force with people of all ages!
I can help by creating a safe and compassionate place to work through difficult thoughts and feelings. I have a caring person centered approach to counseling and so I believe there’s not a cookie cutter way to “do” therapy. I want to listen to what your needs and I will adjust my approach on your specific needs. I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma based therapy, humanistic therapy, interpersonal therapy and mindfulness therapy.
I truly care about helping people and have been in the helping field my whole life. I have worked with children and adolescence with in the classroom, in home and in an outpatient setting. I have done individual, group and family counseling with youth. I believe that nothing is impossible and together we can look for the light.
