Mental Health Counselor
Hello! My name is Matt Schuetz, a counselor at our Wexford Stonewood Drive clinic.
I am a recent graduate of Duquesne University’s Counseling program and a lifelong resident of the greater Pittsburgh region. I am committed to providing a space where adolescents and adults of all ages feel that what they have to share and the experiences they have lived will be heard, accepted and respected. I believe that the relationship between you and your therapist should be a collaborative one, where we work together to set and achieve goals that are tailored to your strengths and needs. This will ensure that our time together will feel worthwhile for you and impactful on your day to day life.
Using a person-centered approach, I incorporate CBT, coping skills, grounding strategies, and mindfulness exercises to help clients build resilience and overcome life’s challenges. Together, we’ll identify your strengths, develop healthier thought patterns, and establish achievable goals that create meaningful, lasting change at a pace that’s right for you.
I recognize that seeking help can be incredibly difficult, and commend you for finding the courage to do so. The road to understanding yourself is rarely linear, and each day may not always better than the last, but I believe we each have the strength to traverse our unique path. If you are ready to begin your journey, I would be honored to walk with you.
