Clinical Mental Health Counselor
I am a pre-licensed mental health therapist at our Wexford-Stonewood Drive clinic who provides therapy in-person and via telehealth. My ideal client is someone that wants to change and understands that therapy and healing is a journey. They should be prepared to stretch themselves and face hard times in their transformation. A therapist can only help so much before the client is able to help themselves; collaboration between the client and myself are imperative.
I have a rich background working in residential treatment services, specialized programming and outpatient counseling. I have worked with individuals that have experienced extreme trauma, neurodivergence, Autism, anger related diagnosis, ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar, and OCD. My particular expertise is working with individuals who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. I have personal and professional experience with foster care and adoption. I am a facilitator in Cultivate Connection; a training specializing in parenting kids from hard places.
One of the hardest steps toward attending therapy can be getting started. I strongly believe in moving at the pace that the individual is most comfortable with and establishing trust and a strong rapport between the client and I while maintaining strict professional boundaries. Collaboration between the client and myself is vital to having successful outcomes. Everyone is unique and I believe adjusting my approach to each individual is a pertinent part of a therapeutic alliance.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and 3 daughters, going for walks, watching sports, and completing house projects.
