Dr. Michael Marek is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at our Wexford – VIP Drive clinic who provides psychiatry services in-person and via telehealth. He is licensed to diagnose, evaluate, and treat individuals across the lifespan. Michael’s work in both the inpatient and outpatient settings has provided him with the knowledge and experience to treat various mental health disorders. These include (but not limited to): Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Psychotic Disorders, ADHD, and Neurocognitive Disorders (i.e., Dementia).

Michael believes in a client-centered approach to treatment. His goal is to work collaboratively with the individual to develop a strong and healthy patient-provider partnership. This allows for a successful, engaging outcome. Michael follows the most recent evidence-based treatment approaches to provide individuals with both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options. He uses the key components of therapeutic communication and education to further empower individuals to reach their full potential.

Michael was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. In his spare time, he enjoys activities with his family, cooking, and working on house projects. Prior to Nursing, Michael obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, which led to his interest in the healthcare field.  He attended Robert Morris University to receive his Nursing degree and to later pursue his doctoral degree.
