Alexandra Snavely, LPC

I am a provider at our Wexford – VIP Drive clinic who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. I am a person-centered clinician with experience working with adolescents and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Through working in these settings, I concurrently earned a Master’s of Science in Education through Duquesne University working in clinical and school practices. I use acceptance and commitment, dialectical behavioral, and solution focused philosophies to empower my clients to move towards a life with value and reduce harmful avoidant strategies.

Clients struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use can find a collaborator and advocate in working with me. Individuals who are striving to find meaning and authenticity in their life will get support through identifying personal values and actionable goals that will move them closer to a life congruent with those values while also taking a harm reduction approach to minimize dual-edged coping strategies. Clients will also learn resilience, mindfulness, and willingness to be present with the full scope of the human emotional experience.

I moved to Pittsburgh in 2014 after graduating with an undergrad psychology degree from the University of Connecticut, and have been working in the mental health field ever since. When I’m not in the office you will find me practicing yoga, tending to an indoor garden, and caring for my two black cats.
