Dr. Allison Bashe, Ph.D.

Dr. Allison Bashe is the Regional Clinic Director of New Directions and a licensed psychologist who specializes in treatment for adolescents and adults.  Her professional background includes working with clients of all ages in a variety of outpatient, inpatient, and residential settings.  A focus on the interaction between the mind and the body for clients encountering both physical and mental health challenges is an area of particular clinical interest for Dr. Bashe.

Dr. Bashe works collaboratively to create a more meaningful and satisfying life for her clients by building skills to cope better with both internal and external challenges. Dr. Bashe uses an integrative approach to care that incorporates mindfulness, cognitive, behavior, interpersonal, and motivational methods among others.

She also enjoys her leadership role as the Regional Clinic Director of New Directions.  Her aim is to support our providers in caring for the mental health of our clients/patients. In addition, she works with our management and administrative teams to develop and maintain a holistic practice that achieves the highest possible standard of care. Dr. Bashe has several years of prior experience in administrative positions.  At her former position at the University of Colorado Denver, she directed the Clinical Psychology MA program for seven years. She was the Director of Clinical Training and the Program Director of the Clinical Health Psychology PhD program for two years. She served as the Director of the Psychological Services Center for one year after playing an integral role in establishing the new center to train doctoral students and meet the mental health needs of the student population.

Dr. Bashe is a Pittsburgh native who returned to this area in early 2011 after spending 12 years in Colorado. She received her BA in Psychology and English from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995, and she obtained her PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2000 from Stony Brook University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship (2000) and a post-doctoral fellowship (2001) at the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan.

Dr. Bashe enjoys adventures that involve traveling, new foods, music of any genre, novels, fine arts, and movies, especially when they are combined with the company of good friends and family.
