I have been working with the mental health community since 2014. I recently obtained my license for counseling.
My ideal client would have issues with self-esteem and anxiety. Their hope is to improve their self-esteem and stop their negative thoughts. They want to feel more comfortable in their own skin, and more comfortable around other people. This individual would like to go into public without thinking others are judging them. They no longer want to spend the majority of their time “hiding.” When this happens, they feel more depressed which negatively impacts their sleeping and eating habits.
I am able to offer interventions and techniques that would address the issues that you are experiencing. To address self-esteem issues, I could provide CBT interventions to address negative thinking patterns and how to create more positive thoughts. In addition, I could offer mindfulness techniques to address anxiety issues.
I would like to end by saying, I understand how difficult it could be to reach out for help. That is an incredible first step in mental health recovery. My initial goal is to create an environment where my clients feel safe and respected. I work side-by-side with my clients to create attainable goals that will foster autonomy and positive change.
