Meg graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Greensburg with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She then went on to graduate school at Carlow University where she obtained her Master of Science in Professional Counseling. While attending Carlow University, she served as the president of Chi Epsilon Mu Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota Professional Counseling Honors Society. Meg is currently continuing her education at Duquesne University in the PhD Counselor Education and Supervision doctoral program as she works towards licensure. She wants her clients to know that she strives to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where life’s challenges can be explored. She believes in a collaborative approach to treatment and wants them to feel comfortable working together. In her free time she enjoys cooking, exercising, traveling, and spending time with friends, family, and her dog. She also enjoys volunteering at Light of Life rescue Mission helping those struggling with homelessness in the Pittsburgh community.
Meg has experience working in various levels of care such as inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient, school-based, and residential treatment facilitates. Within these settings, she has provided counseling services to individuals of all ages as well as worked with a wide variety of diagnoses. Through her experiences in previous positions, she has developed unique skill sets that help her to provide quality care to her clients. One such skill that she has developed is American Sign Language, which developed her passion for working with the Deaf/Hard of Hearing population. She uses a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and person-centered approach with her clients. Meg enjoys working within psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy modalities the most. However, she can utilize different modalities in her work to best fit your need and meet you where you are at.
Meg’s ideal client is motivated to change and ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth. They are open to self-reflection and are looking to develop skills, enhance resilience, and build a positive mindset.
