Counselor
I am a clinician at our Monroeville clinic who provides therapy services!
I work with children ages 5 and up. My specialty is medical trauma, bereavement, and grief. I conducted my graduate art therapy internship at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where I worked with medical illnesses ranging from pediatric oncology, cardiology, transplant, trauma, and gastroenterology. I work with a variety of disorders including but not limited to ADHD, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and autism spectrum disorders.
I am a pre-licensed clinician working towards obtaining my LPC (license professional counselor). My theoretical approach is rooted in humanism, using person-centered and existential theories. I meet my clients where they are and follow their lead, acting as a guide during their healing journey. I’m a trained art therapist, utilizing art therapy interventions and directives during my sessions. As an art therapist, I believe that art can be used as a means of communication when we do not have the words. My goal is to create a safe and inclusive space where my clients can be fully themselves.
I have been attending my own personal therapy since I was a kid. I understand how it feels to be on the receiving end of therapy and how nerve-wracking it can be to start. I strive to create a safe, welcoming space for my clients.
I have a passion helping children with medical diagnoses work through the complex emotions and challenges that arise. I’m an advocate for pediatric cancer patients and survivors. I have been volunteering with pediatric oncology organizations for almost a decade now.
