Christina Watson, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

My ideal client would be an individual who experiencing a struggle with a transition in their life. This person likely just lost a loved one to death or divorce. They need to work on the grief of their past life a rebuilding their new life with a different support system. They need support from a person outside of the situation who is non-judgmental. Their goals are to move forward from this change and to determine what is best for them and their family moving forward.

I can help by being that non-judgmental voice. I find that when people are going through changes in their lives, they turn to their support system. I think the hardest part of this is that it is likely their support system has changed as well. I would like to use both CBT skills to discuss cognitive distortions that may have lead to where they are and their past beliefs and DBT skills to move forward with acceptance that they cannot control the factors that contribute to the changes in their lives.

I am 41 year old female that has been through a lot in my life and can provide empathy knowing that one can make it out the other side a better person. I feel that it is important to look at each client as an individual and work with them to tailor their treatment to what they see is best for them. I would like to assist them in creating a better life and having better coping skills to move forward in navigating challenges that will come up as new stages of life come up.
