Emily Cope, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

My ideal client is a person of any age experiencing behavioral health concerns or life circumstances that impact their daily functioning, relationships, or school/work performance. This distress may be due to mood disorders, anxiety, work stress, trauma, difficulty focusing, or a variety of other factors.
Their needs are often best addressed through a combination of inclusive and holistic treatment approaches. This may include medication management, supportive therapy, and guidance on lifestyle influences. They may also require assistance in understanding their diagnosis, how treatment works, and how to navigate the stigma often attached to behavioral health.
Their goals typically include gaining control over their symptoms, improving their overall quality of life, and maintaining stability and balance. They want to build healthy coping skills and feel as though they are on a path toward healing and better management of their mental health.

They seek to feel understood, validated, and empowered throughout their journey. They want a provider who listens attentively, collaborates with them to create a personalized treatment plan, and acts as a partner to make meaningful progress. Their aim isn’t just symptom relief, but to recover a sense of hope, purpose, and balance in their lives. They want to feel better, regain functionality, and have fewer disruptions to their daily life due to behavioral health challenges.

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) I offer a blend of holistic treatment approaches including medication management, guidance of lifestyle factors such as sleep and habits, building natural supports, and psychotherapy.

I recognize that everyone is unique, and there’s no single solution. If you’re feeling uncertain about starting therapy or mental health care, I get it—taking that first step can be difficult. But reaching out is the first sign of strength, and feeling better, regaining control, and reclaiming balance in your life. You don’t have to go through it alone.

Ultimately, my goal is to provide compassionate, personalized care that supports mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Whether through helping a client manage symptoms of a specific condition, guiding them through a difficult life transition, or supporting their journey toward healing, I am committed to walking alongside them every step of the way.

I want my patients to know that I understand that mental health challenges can feel isolating, overwhelming, and at times, frustrating. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and supported throughout your journey. Your thoughts, feelings, and experiences matter to me, and I’m here to listen with empathy and work collaboratively to help you navigate your mental health challenges.
