Dr. Kathleen Kocherzat is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of clinical experience. Her professional background includes working in community mental health, group private practice and the correctional setting. She’s skilled in working with adults, adolescents (ages 17-19) and elders (ages 65+). Dr. Kocherzat works from a humanistic psychological perspective, an approach which respectfully considers the wholeness and uniqueness of each individual seeking treatment.
Dr. Kocherzat specializes in helping those struggling with a multitude of difficulties such as grief, post-traumatic stress disorder or (PTSD), depression, anxiety and adjustment issues. Clinical treatment is a journey where you won’t have to walk alone. In this sense, therapy provides a safe space where you can explore aspects of your life that are no longer working well for you. This personal journey has the potential to engender new-found strength, hope and peace for you and your life.
Dr. Kocherzat is originally from central Pennsylvania. She received her BA in Clinical Psychology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She relocated to Pittsburgh and completed her MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology at Duquesne University.
Dr. Kocherzat enjoys reading, writing, hiking and crossword puzzles. She also loves spending time relaxing with her family.
