I have experience in trauma recovery and enjoy working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship problems and grief.
I approach therapy from a holistic perspective and focus on Person Centered therapy with the intention of creating an empathetic and supportive environment for you to begin your healing journey. My approach to therapy is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which allows us to explore the impact of negative thoughts on emotions and unwanted behavior. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and provide EMDR therapy to help recover from trauma experiences. I have 10 years’ experience working in the helping profession including community mental health treatment and have worked within diverse populations with varying needs. In addition to CBT and EMDR, I pull from practices of mindfulness, strength-based approaches, motivational interviewing, and faith integrated therapy when desired.
I approach life with a heart of gratitude and intention to enjoy the little moments. I enjoy spending time with family and our two dogs, a chocolate lab (Dax) and Newfoundland (Max). I enjoy practicing martial arts, sports, community outreach, and yoga in the park. I believe in allowing the therapeutic relationship to grow through trust and vulnerability, support, and encouragement. It is my goal to encourage you to reach a place of healing and growth, however that may look for you. I look forward to taking that journey with you.
