Lisa Ash, MA

Licensed Associate Professional Counselor

Sometimes life gets hard. That is a fact. Oftentimes it is hard to see our way through all of the obstacles and disappointments that life can throw at us. We can get depressed, anxious, discouraged, and defeated. Sometimes we can just feel lost. It is at those times we may need someone to walk along beside us to help us find our way. It is my desire to be that person for my clients. Two words describe my ideal client, willing and open. My ideal client is someone who wants to change and is ready and willing to do the work it takes to make that change in their life. At the same time, they understand that creating change is a process. They are open to trying something they’ve never tried before, giving themselves grace when they fail, and being okay with starting again if necessary. Together we can find the answers they need to make the change they want.

Therapy is a collaborative effort, and I believe that it is important to create a strong therapeutic relationship with every client. This partnership allows me to meet them where they are and utilize an approach that fits each client’s unique needs. I specialize in working with teens and adults who are experiencing grief and loss. I also have experience working with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and anger issues. I offer art therapy sessions as well as talk therapy sessions. I also
utilize meditation and mindfulness practices in order to incorporate the mind, body, and spirit of my clients.

I am passionate about helping people make changes that will allow them to live more fully and freely. I bring all of my life experience with me into my sessions with clients and use every tool in my toolbox. I use an honest, open, non-judgmental, empathetic, person-centered approach. My goal is to create a safe space where my clients can feel comfortable, seen, heard, and cared for. Creating this type of environment empowers my clients and encourages them to take control of their healing. Yes, sometimes life gets hard. That is a fact, but I want you to know you are not alone. I can help.
