Physician Assistant
As a Physician Assistant (PA) working in mental health, my ideal client is someone who is actively engaged in their treatment and committed to improving their mental health. This includes individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, PTSD, ADHD and a wide range of other psychiatric conditions. I encourage clients to communicate any concerns, side effects, or lack of progress, enabling myself to make necessary adjustments to the treatment plan. The client understands that mental health improvement is a gradual process and they are willing to learn about their condition, treatment options, and self-care strategies, which can enhance their understanding and management of their mental health. The client views the therapeutic relationship as a partnership, working
together with myself to set goals, discuss progress, and make adjustments as needed.
I will perform detailed psychiatric assessments to understand clients’ mental health status, including history, symptoms, and functional impairments. Working with the clients, I will create individualized treatment plans based on clients’ specific needs. It is important that clients are informed about their medications, including how they work, potential side effects, and the importance of adherence. I empower clients to take an active role in their treatment by setting goals, tracking progress, and recognizing achievements. My goal is to foster a trusting and supportive relationship with clients, making them feel heard and understood. I am committed to trying to reduce the stigma around mental health and its treatment. By combining these approaches, I can provide comprehensive and compassionate care that addresses the diverse needs of individual’s mental health.
I completed my Bachelor of Medical Studies and Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Seton Hill University. I have experience in treating individuals struggling with addiction and mental health.
