Sarah Grebeck, MA, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a clinician at our Meadowlands clinic who provides therapy services!

My ideal clients are children, adolescents, and young adults, facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, life changes, or identity development. Behaviorally, younger children may show signs like difficulty focusing, acting out, or withdrawing from others, while teens and young adults may experience mood swings, irritability, or avoid social situations. All groups might struggle with expressing themselves or coping with overwhelming emotions, sometimes manifesting as physical symptoms.

These clients need a safe, supportive environment where they can express themselves and work on emotional regulation. They need guidance in developing coping strategies, improving communication, and building self-esteem. Their goals often include reducing symptoms of anxiety or depression, enhancing social skills, and learning to manage relationships and stress. For teens and young adults, this also involves strengthening independence and resilience.

Ultimately, they seek connection to themselves, others, and the world around them. They want to feel heard, understood, and supported as they develop the skills needed to face life’s challenges with confidence.

I believe every young person deserves a space where they can feel heard, safe, and understood, especially when life feels overwhelming. My approach is all about building trust through play, creativity, and open conversations. Whether we’re using games, drawing, or simply talking, I meet my clients where they are emotionally and developmentally, so they feel comfortable expressing themselves.

For younger children, I incorporate fun, interactive activities that help them explore and process their emotions in a way that feels natural to them. For teens and younger adults, I focus on creating a space where they can be themselves incorporating their interests while learning tools to manage stress, improve emotional regulation, and build resilience. I deeply respect their need for independence and confidentiality, while always providing a supportive environment.

Ultimately, I believe in a holistic approach, where therapy extends beyond just the session. I work collaboratively with families, and when appropriate, communities to help create a network of support. My goal is to help young people build confidence, heal from past experiences, and develop the skills they need to navigate life’s ups and downs.

I believe in the importance of connection, both in therapy and in life, and I bring that belief into everything I do. Outside of my work, I find enjoy life’s simple pleasures like reading, spending time in nature, and enjoying music. Music has always been a special way for me to reconnect with myself. As a native Pittsburgher, I’m with our teams through every part of the ride! These personal passions, along with my friends and family, help me stay centered and grounded every day.

I know life can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re navigating tough emotions or trying to understand who you are, and I’m here to help. My approach is to meet each person where they are, offering a safe and compassionate space where they can truly feel heard and understood. Whether we explore feelings through creative outlets or have open, honest conversations, I’m here to offer support in the way that feels best for you.

If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares and is dedicated to helping you or your child work through life’s challenges, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on that journey.
