Tina Goff, LPC

Tina Goff is a Licensed Professional Counselor at our Wexford – VIP Drive clinic who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. She helps individuals, couples, and families with anxiety, depression, trauma, adult ADHD, LGBT issues, women’s issues and more. Tina’s therapeutic philosophy is fueled by the importance of each person’s story and the way it connects us to each other.  Your story matters and it deserves to be heard. It is the foundation of empowerment and vital to your sense of self. Tina is driven by a strong desire to help people find peace in the shelter of belonging.

Humbled by a person’s courage and strength to reach out for help, Tina honors the risk people take to explore and make change. Life transitions and the shifting of roles and identity are a key piece of Tina’s work with adults. She helps clients find meaning, identifies their healthy strivings, and guides clients to develop positive, respectful, effective communication skills. She recognizes we are all different people and are not defined by diagnoses. Tina meets clients where they are and adapts a therapy style that best fits their needs. From a trauma informed care and client-centered base, she draws from her experiences with Positive Psychology, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Eco-Systemic Structural Therapy. Her approach is supported by core-based empathy, genuine curiosity, kindness, a sense of humor, and lastly, a life full of experience. It is Tina’s hope that each person’s effort to heal will yield stronger communities.

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”― Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning

Tina received her Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University in Pittsburgh. Before coming to New Directions Counseling, Tina practiced as a family-based therapist and as an Intensive Outpatient Program therapist. She also taught high school for Pittsburgh Public Schools. Tina lives gratefully and spends her free time in her gardens, writing, reading, and trying to convince CJ her cat that deep breathing will help calm him. She cherishes her friends and knows her life is rich because of them. Tina is the voice of Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus.
